The Journey

The name TITANIUM was inspired from an accident that I had on Dec 1, 2012. I had a titanium tibial rod inserted in my left leg and it was a significant moment in my life. At that time, I aspired to be a utility line worker and those dreams were now over. I worked a desk job for a few years while recovering from my accident and then the question came: “Have you ever thought about becoming an electrician?”

After applying for an Apprentice Electrician license, I had a chance encounter with an employee of an electrical contractor at a Wendy’s in Georgetown, TX. I politely interrupted him while he was eating and asked him about my next step. He gave me his business card, said to call the number, and within 2 weeks, I was working for that company.

They sponsored me to be a student in an apprenticeship program and that was the next step in my journey. I excelled in the four-year program, attended extra classes, studied ahead during the summer, and took on whatever challenges I could while navigating the events that I had in my personal life during that time. I was able to become a Journeyman Electrician prior to my graduation from the program and was a participant in a competition for the top six 4th-year students.

At the graduation, my executive director talked about “the journey”. The same journey that he talked to us about during orientation at the beginning of the program. It was a time of reflection about the past four years as well as my future as a Journeyman Electrician.

The idea of starting my own company came early in 2021 as COVID was becoming a significant part of our lives. The idea about the company evolved over the next couple of years. One day shy of the six-year anniversary of becoming a licensed electrician, I became a Master Electrician. Things started to materialize after that. The services that I wanted to provide started to expand and I had to come up with a name. I wanted something unique and creative.

About 10 months after becoming a Master Electrician, I became a licensed Electrical Contractor. There have been many learning experiences over the years. I have been able to use the good and bad experiences to develop a business model that helps provide a quality product at a competitive rate and one that focuses on the safety of the customer. As technology evolves, so do the services that I can provide. I’m always learning, reading, attending classes, watching videos, and asking questions.

I absolutely love what I do and I’m grateful that I have the skills to provide my services for you. Being creative and visual along with my passion are just a few of the things that help me be a well-rounded electrician for your needs. I had Kenneth install some lights that I got off of Amazon. He was prompt, arriving at my house a few minutes before our arranged meeting time. He inspected the area where I wanted to add the lights. Kenneth was a blessing. He saved my house from a house fire by fixing a handy mans bad wiring job! I recently had 5 fans installed and new wire ran for those fans to be on their own switches. The fans were installed wobbly and the wiring was a fire hazard. I quickly had to shut off the breakers and find a certified electrician. Kenneth was able to consult with us the same day and we scheduled work the following day. He showed up on time and ready to work. He pulled out all the old wire and ran new wire that is code compliant and not a fire hazard. While in the attic he noticed a possible issue with our AC ducts. He took photo's and showed them to us so that we could contact an AC company to come and fix the issue. Kenneth was a delight. My ask was to replace 5 of my 14-year-old smoke detectors in my home, which he did at a reasonable price that I immediately agreed with, but he also suggested that I move the one in my daughters room to the hallway so we could try to identify which one of my detectors was problematic. It was this suggestion that led to identifying that the electricity going to my daughter's smoke detector was at fault for my detector to go off and not the hardware itself.
